HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06082010 - C.44RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Resolution No. 2010/308 approving and authorizing the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to apply for and accept the California Emergency Management Agency (CalEMA), 2010 Buffer Zone Protection Program Grant in an amount not to exceed $600,000 to reduce the vulnerability of identified critical infrastructure within the county for the period October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: $600,000, 100% Federal revenue; No County match. Buffer Zone Protection Program funding is allocated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to the California Emergency Management Agency for distribution to local jurisdictions. The Office of the Sheriff-Coroner will serve as the fiscal agent, overseeing disbursement of grant funds to jurisdictions within the operational area. The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff-Coroner is the operational area fiscal agent for previous BZPP grants. CalEMA identified the County as the pass-through entity and fiscal agent for these grant funds although the 2010 grant targets funding for facilities located within the Cities of Richmond and Martinez.
