APPROVE the bid documents, including plans and specifications, for the Parking Lot "C" Expansion Project located at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center ("CCRMC"), 2500 Alhambra Avenue, Martinez. 2. AUTHORIZE the General Services Director, or designee, to advertise for bids to be received on July 1, 2010, and to issue bid Addenda, as needed, for clarification of the contract bid documents, provided the involved changes do not significantly increase the cost estimate for the initial construction contract. FISCAL IMPACT: Funding is provided for in the Health Services Department Enterprise Fund (E F-1) fiscal year 2009-2010 budget. BACKGROUND: There is currently a shortage of parking spaces at the CCRMC. Demand exceeds supply by approximately 150 spaces on an average daily basis. Lango, General Services Director Date:May 25, 2010 Contra Costa County Subject:Approve Bid Documents and Authorize Bid Advertisement for the Parking Lot "C" Expansion at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Plan, it is proposed that Lot "C" be renovated, which would yield 60 additional parking spaces and improve the efficiency of the lot. The project will be phased to minimize impacts to the on-going daily activities at the CCRMC. The bid documents and specifications have been prepared by International Parking Design, Inc. and will be filed with the Clerk of the Board by the General Services Director. The construction cost estimate is $340,000. The prevailing rate of per diem wages is on file with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors pursuant to the statutes of the State of California and applicable local law, which shall be the minimum rates paid on this project. The Board has determined on January 6, 2010 that the project is a California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Negative Declaration, and the Department of Conservation and Development has filed a Notice of Determination and a Certificate of Fee Exemption De Minimis Impact Finding with the County Clerk.
