HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05252010 - C.22RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20800 to add two (2) 40/40 Library Assistant-Journey Level (3KVB) positions (represented) at salary level QXX-1030 ($2,954-3,773); one (1) 20/40 Library Assistant-Journey Level (3KVB) position (represented) at salary level QXX-1030 ($2,954-3,773) ; one (1) 20/40 Clerk-Experienced Level (JWXB) position (represented) at salary level 3RH-50 ($2,682-3,327); and two (2) 40/40 Librarian (3AWA) positions (represented) at salary level QXX-1341 ($4.020-5,134) in the County Library. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact to the County general fund. The cost associated with this action is $360,456. The costs for these requested positions are included in the Library’s 2010-2011 budget. The City of Walnut Creek has committed to reimbursing for costs beyond the County’s base level of 35 hours of operation in each library location. BACKGROUND: The Library staff has worked closely with the City of Walnut Creek to plan the opening of a new Library. The requested positions will allow the department to prepare for the July 1, 2010 opening of the new Walnut Creek Library and staffing for the Ygnacio Valley Library in Walnut Creek. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If these positions are not added the new Library will not be able to meet the service agreements with the City of Walnut Creek when the new building opens on July 17, 2010.
