ADOPT Resolution 2010/288 proclaiming the month of May 2010 as Older Americans
Month in Contra Costa County, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services
Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa County is a community that includes an estimated 188,299 citizens aged 60
and older. The older adults in Contra Costa County are among our most “treasured
resources,” united by historical experiences, strengthened by diversity, and interpreting
events through varied perspectives and back-grounds to bring wisdom and insight to our
community. The increasing numbers of adults are reaching retirement age and remaining
strong and active for longer than ever before
