HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05182010 - C.73RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D.), to execute, on behalf of the County, Unpaid Student Training Agreement #22 153-8 with San Francisco State University to provide nursing field instruction in the Health Services Department for its Contractor’s students, for the period from March 1, 2010 through February 28, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: None. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this agreement is to provide Contractor’s nursing students with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with application skills and attitudes at progressively higher levels of performance requirements and responsibility. Supervised fieldwork experience for students is considered to be an integral part of both the educational and professional preparation. The Health Services Department can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, taking advantage of the students’ services to patients. Approval of Unpaid Student Training Agreement #22-153-8 will continue to provide supervised clinical experience for Contractor’s students, through February 28, 2013.
