Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-395-10 with LocumTenen.com, LLC,
a limited liability company, effective September 8, 2009, to amend Contract #26-395-8, to
increase the payment limit by $170,000, from $500,000 to a new payment limit of
$670,000, with no change in the original term of March 1, 2009 through February 28, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
On March 31, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-395-8 with
LocumTenens.com, LLC for the period from March 1, 2009 through February 28, 2010, for
the provision of recruitment services and temporary physician services at Contra Costa
Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers.
At the time of negotiations, the payment limited was based upon target levels of utilization.
However, the utilization was actually

higher than originally anticipated due to heavily used Orthopedic coverage. The Department
is requesting approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-395-10 to allow the
Contractor to provide additional temporary physician services, through February 28, 2010.
