FISCAL IMPACT: $776,780, No net County costs; 100% 2008 Urban Area Security Initiative Grant Program. (CFDA# 97.008) BACKGROUND: The proposed contract amendment with Hunter Research, Inc., provides continuity in the plan developed by Automated Regional Information Exchange System (ARIES) Operations Committee and originally adopted in concept by the County Justice Automation Advisory Committee (JAAC) for countywide justice and law enforcement systems integration and information sharing. This amendment further allows the County to meet obligations under the 2008 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Grant Program to expand ARIES to UASI partner agencies. 2008 UASI Grant Program funding is U.S. Department of Homeland Security funding passed through the City and County of San Francisco as fiscal agent for the nine-jurisdiction consortium.
