Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Haven Fearn), to
execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24–429–48 with Ujima
Family Recovery Services, a non-profit corporation, effective April 15, 2010, to amend
Contract #24-429–45 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreements #24–429–46 and
#24–429–47), to decrease the payment limit by $55,399, from $1,679,752 to a new
payment limit of $1,624,353, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2009 through
June 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 87% by Federal Perinatal Set-Aside and Medi-Cal, 4% by State
Substance Abuse/Mental Health Services for CalWORKs (SAMHWorks) and California
Emergency Management Agency – Justice Assistance Grant Offender Treatment Program
(CAL EMA JAG-OTP), and 9% by Drug Medi-Cal.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
(as amended by Contract Amendment Agreements #24–429–46 and #24–429–47), with
Ujima Family Recovery Services, for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010,
for the provision of perinatal intensive day treatment, residential recovery program, and
transitional housing for women.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24–429–48 will allow the Contractor to
provide fewer units of counseling services through June 30, 2010.
