HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05182010 - C.48RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Sheriff-Coroner, to
amend a purchase order with O.C. Tanner Company, to increase the payment limit by
$10,000, from $25,000 to a new payment limit of $35,000, with no change to the
termination date of June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$10,000, 100% General Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The Office of the Sheriff has a long standing employee service awards program, which
recognizes employees for their years of service with the Office. Employees reaching
milestones of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service within the calendar quarter
are recognized for their dedication by receiving an award from the Sheriff-Coroner. In
addition, most employees (civilian and sworn) receive a Sheriff's badge lapel pin. The
current blanket purchase order was originally established in July 2007 and will expire June
30, 2011. An additional $10,000 is needed to ensure upcoming employees continue to be
recognized for their service years.
