HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05182010 - C.41RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County (WDBCCC) to apply for and accept U. S. Department of Labor, Title V grant funding from Senior Service America, Inc., in an amount up to $60,000 to provide computer training to older workers to address the gap in the ability to access information through technology for the term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: $60,000 County to receive U. S. Department of Labor, Title V grant funding from Senior Service America, Inc. (No County match) (All Districts) BACKGROUND: The U. S. Department of Labor, Title V funds are made available to agencies through the Senior Service America, Inc., grant process. If granted, WDBCCC will use the funds to provide computer traing to Title V older workers who are uncomfortable with technology, therefore addressing the gap for those who cannot access information through technology.
