HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05182010 - C.36RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the City and County of San Francisco to increase the Contra Costa County allocation of 2008 Urban Area Security Initiative grant funds by $35,450, from $1,845,261 to a new payment limit of $1,880,711 for communications interoperability management with no change in the contract period. FISCAL IMPACT: No County Costs. $35,450 increase in revenue; 100% US Department of Homeland Security 2008 Urban Area Security Initiative Grant Program funding through the City and County of San Francisco as fiscal agent. (CFDA#97.008) BACKGROUND: Urban Area Security Initiative Grant Program (UASI) funds address the unique planning, equipment, training, and exercise needs of high threat, high density urban areas, and assist them in building an enhanced and sustainable capacity to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism. The targeted UASI homeland security funding for the County is to develop interoperable communications and an integrated records management system between the County and other UASI members. The increased revenue will be used toward interoperable communications project management. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
