An average of 250 client transports occur per month, mainly to medical appointments, employment interviews, Social Security Administration for benefits assistance, substance abuse detoxification and treatment programs, and pharmacies for prescription refills. The majority of the clients are elderly, and physically and/or mentally disabled. The respite program is located in an area where bus transportation is limited, therefore requiring transportation from the program to ensure the safety of the clients. The purpose-built vehicle will enable the Respite Program to provide safe transportation to the elderly and disabled homeless clients who reside in the respite program. This purchase will be funded with a Kaiser Permanente Grant for the new HSD Homeless Program. ATTACHMENTS Approp Adj #5076
