HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05182010 - C.16RECOMMENDATION(S): Adopt Ordinance No. 2010-07 amending Section 33-5.311 of the County Ordinance Code to exempt the classification of Chief of Police-Contract Agency-Exempt from the Merit System. FISCAL IMPACT: No cost associated with this action. BACKGROUND: The Board of Supervisors approved the establishment of the classification of Chief of Police-Contract Agency-Exempt on May 11, 2010. The newly established classification is a single position responsible for acting as a Police Chief and providing law enforcement services to contract cities. Appointees will be appointed solely by the Sheriff-Coroner.
