Subject:APPROVE the Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks FEMA Levee Recertification Project - geotechnical
investigation and make related findings under CEQA
BACKGROUND:
The project will provide the geotechnical data required by the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) for recertification of the levees. Recertification will avoid
burdening a disadvantaged community with costs associated with purchasing flood
insurance.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Delay in approving the project will delay recertification of the levees and require
residents of an already disadvantaged community to purchase flood insurance.
