Accept a presentation from the Health Services Department on the Regional Medical Center
Cancer Program being one of only three California hospitals to receive the 2009
Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on
Cancer.

BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Health Service's Regional Medical Center Cancer Program recently received
the 2009 Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons’
Commission on Cancer. The Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez is one of
only three California hospitals to receive the award. Cancer Program Medical Director Dr.
Sharon Hiner and Oncology Nurse Marianne Bunce-Houston also will present on the
Cancer Program's 2010 Annual Report, which includes an in-depth look at breast cancer
