Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to
execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24-950-43(9) with
Psychotherapy Institute for Individual, Family and Community Development, Inc., a
corporation, effective April 1, 2010, to amend Contract #24-950-43(7) [as amended by
Contract Amendment Agreement #24-950-43(8)], to increase the payment limit by $15,000,
from $120,000 to a new payment limit of $135,000, with no change in the original term of
July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Medi-Cal Funds, offset 50% State and 50% Federal.
BACKGROUND:
In September 2008, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services
Manager executed Contract #24 950 43(7) [as amended by Contract Amendment
Agreement #24-950-43(8)] with Psychotherapy Institute for Individual, Family and
Community Development, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010, to
provide Medi-Cal specialty mental health services.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
At the time of negotiations, the payment limit was based on target levels of utilization.
However, the utilization during the term of the agreement was higher than originally
anticipated. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-950 43(9) will allow the
Contractor to provide additional services through June 30, 2010.
