FISCAL IMPACT: $2,186,197: Contract Increase of $228,570 ($135,000 anti-fraud activities, $93,570 required provider enrollment activities), 100% State, No County match BACKGROUND: In an effort to implement measures to reduce and prevent fraud in In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has made funding available to counties to address activities such as fraud investigation and prosecution. Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: , Deputy cc: C.39 To:Board of Supervisors From:Joe Valentine, Employment & Human Services Director Date:April 27, 2010 Contra Costa County Subject:Interagency Agreement Amendment between the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority (PA) and the Employment and Human Services Department BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) In Contra Costa County the Public Authority (PA) will receive $135,000 from CDSS for anti-fraud activities to be performed by Registry Specialists, including but not limited to the referral of providers to Live Scan and conducting anti-fraud orientations. CDSS has also made available funding in the amount of $93,570 to the PA for the implementation of new provider enrollment requirements as set forth by the California Department of Social Services, including conducting mandated provider orientations and assisting providers in fully and correctly completing the required forms.
