Subject:APPROVE the conveyance of Surplus Real Property to the City of Pittsburg, Pittsburg area. [CDD-CP#90-6]
Project No. 4660-6X4258
BACKGROUND:
The County acquired certain real property located on Range Road from Ham Radio
Outlet in 2009 for the widening of State Route 4 from Bailey Road to Railroad Avenue
with funds from CCTA and the City. A portion of this property is now surplus to the
County’s current or future use. The City agreed to pay the County $5,000.00 towards the
$10,000.00 purchase price of the Ham Radio Property with the understanding the County
would quitclaim the portion of the property not required for the project to the City.
The County is also reserving easement rights for the soundwalls and ingress and egress
rights to the soundwalls. These easement rights will be transferred to Caltrans at a later
time.
Title to the property is now in the County’s name and the County is now ready to transfer
the surplus property to the City.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The County would continue to have the full responsibility and expense of maintaining
the surplus property.
