HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04272010 - C.05RECOMMENDATION(S): DETERMINE the surplus real property, located on Range Road in the City of Pittsburg (City), to be no longer necessary for Contra Costa County (County) road purposes. APPROVE the conveyance of said real property to the City, pursuant to Streets and Highway Code §960; AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute the Quitclaim Deed on behalf of the County, as recommended by the Public Works Director. DIRECT Real Property to deliver the Quitclaim Deed to the City for acceptance and recording. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact to the County General Fund. Payment is 100% reimbursable from Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA). Bueren, Public Works Director/Chief Engineer Date:April 27, 2010 Contra Costa County Subject:APPROVE the conveyance of Surplus Real Property to the City of Pittsburg, Pittsburg area. [CDD-CP#90-6] Project No. 4660-6X4258 BACKGROUND: The County acquired certain real property located on Range Road from Ham Radio Outlet in 2009 for the widening of State Route 4 from Bailey Road to Railroad Avenue with funds from CCTA and the City. A portion of this property is now surplus to the County’s current or future use. The City agreed to pay the County $5,000.00 towards the $10,000.00 purchase price of the Ham Radio Property with the understanding the County would quitclaim the portion of the property not required for the project to the City. The County is also reserving easement rights for the soundwalls and ingress and egress rights to the soundwalls. These easement rights will be transferred to Caltrans at a later time. Title to the property is now in the County’s name and the County is now ready to transfer the surplus property to the City. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County would continue to have the full responsibility and expense of maintaining the surplus property. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: ATTACHMENTS Quitclaim Deed
