HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04202010 - C.54RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, (Wendel Brunner, M.D.), to execute, on behalf of the County, Unpaid Student Training Agreement #22-552–4 with Samuel Merritt College to provide occupational therapy field instruction in the Health Services Department for Contractor’s students, for the period from April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: None BACKGROUND: The purpose of this agreement is to provide Contractor’s students with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with application skills and attitudes at progressively higher levels of performance requirements and responsibility. Supervised fieldwork experience for students is considered to be an integral part of both the educational and professional preparation. The Health Services Department can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, taking advantage of the students’ services to patients. Approval of Unpaid Student Training Agreement #22-552-4 will continue supervised occupational therapy clinical experience for Contractor’s students, through March 31, 2013.
