Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee, to execute, on behalf of
the County, Contract #26-599-1 with Richard J. Claveria, M.D., A Professional Medical
Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $270,000, to provide professional Orthopedic
Surgery services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health
Centers, for the period from May 1, 2010 through April 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise I Budget. Cost to the County depends upon
utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services.
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health
Specialists to provide specialized professional services that are not otherwise available in its
Hospital and Health Centers.
On May 22, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-599 with the Contractor

Approval of Contract #26-599-1 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide orthopedic
surgery services, through April 30, 2013.
