Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner,
M.D.), to accept, on behalf of the County, Grant Award #28-814 (CA0178B9T050800,
DUNNS 71687883) from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to
pay the County an amount not to exceed $510,971 over a three (3) year period, for the
County’s Homeless McKinney-Vento Rapid Re-housing project, for the period from May 1,
2010 through June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Grant Award will result in an amount not to exceed $510,971 payable to
the County from HUD McKinney-Vento Rapid Re-housing funds. This includes $21,000 in
matching funds over three (3) years and will be provided by the project sponsor Shelter, Inc.
No County funds required.
BACKGROUND:
Rapid Re-housing assistance is not intended to provide long?term support but focuses on
housing stabilization, linking program participants to community resources and mainstream
benefits and helping them develop a plan for preventing future housing instability. It will
