ACCEPT presentation from CSAC staff on items related to the State budget, CSAC
outreach tools, county government month, and other items of statewide interest to counties.
CONSIDER adopting Resolution 2010/159 declaring April 2010 as County Government
Month in the State of California and encouraging all Californians to become active
participants in their county government.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No impact to the County General Fund.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the visit by CSAC representatives is primarily one of outreach. In a brief
presentation, CSAC staff will be touching on a quick state budget update, county
government month, and new communications tools CSAC is in the process of rolling out, as
well as other items of statewide interest to counties. CSAC staff will be bringing printed

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
to this outreach visit by CSAC, National County Government Month (NCGM) is
celebrated each April by the nation’s counties to raise public awareness and
understanding about the roles and responsibilities of county government. CSAC and
NACo are encouraging counties to adopt the attached resolution to commemorate April
2010 as National County Government Month.
The attached booklet provides ideas for a variety of ways counties can celebrate National
County Government Month.
