APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Acting Risk Manager, or designee, to execute a contract
amendment with Environmental and Occupational Risk Management (EORM), effective
April 1, 2010, to increase the total payment limit by $54,000 to a new total payment limit of
$484,780, to provide additional First Aid/CPR/AED Training for Contra Costa County
departments with no change in the original term of July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This contract is funded as follows: 63% through the Workers’ Compensation Internal
Service Funds and 37% through charges to user departments.
BACKGROUND:
Environmental and Occupational Risk Management, Inc. assists in dealing with
Occupational Safety Health Administration compliance inspections and responses on behalf
of our departments.
Department requests have increased for First Aid/CPR/AED Training which include
training materials and practical hands-on experience covering: Primary assessment of the

Scenarios are customized for County Departments, work locations/environments, and job
classes/tasks. County-specific emergency procedures for communications, employee
transport, medication dispensing, etc. are also taught.
