APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Librarian to apply for and execute a contract to accept

Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council in the amount of $5,460 for Rodeo Library Services,
pursuant to the local refinery Good Neighbor Agreement.

The County currently funds 18 hours of library service at the Rodeo Library. If granted, the

hours from February 7 through February 28, 2010.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Possible reduction in library service to the Rodeo community.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This grant supports the community outcome of Communities that are Safe and Provide a
High Quality of Life for Children and Families. Many Rodeo residents are only able to use
the Rodeo Library in the evening or on weekends due to transportation difficulties and/or
age (particularly children and teens who cannot yet drive). The Rodeo Library is an
important part of the community's civic life, offering such activities as book discussion
groups, movie discussion groups, and literacy programs for parents with small children.
