HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04132010 - C.54RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Librarian, or designee, to apply for and accept a grant in the amount of $10,000 from Target to provide programming support for the Contra Costa County Library Reading Festival June 5-6, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact. No matching funds required. BACKGROUND: On June 5th and 6th, 2010 the Contra Costa County Library’s annual Reading Festival will kick off its ever popular Summer Reading program with a weekend of interesting and exciting activities for audiences of all ages. The two-day festival will feature authors, crafts, puppets, magic, music and more, while encouraging people throughout the county to sign up for the 2010 Summer Reading program, Make A Splash At The Library. In its third year, this will be the first time that the Library has scheduled the Reading Festival in conjunction with its long-running Summer Reading program. If approved, this will be the third consecutive year that Target has sponsored the Reading Festival.
