HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04132010 - C.35RECOMMENDATION(S): FIX April 27, 2010, for a public hearing to adopt Traffic Resolution 2010/4313 establishing a speed limit of 5 miles per hour and load limits of 36,000, 56,000, and 70,000 pounds, for Type 3, Type 3S2, and Type 3-3 commercial vehicles, respectively, on the Marsh Creek Detention Facility Bridge (Bridge No. 28C0226), as recommended by the Public Works Director, Clayton area. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact to the general fund. BACKGROUND: The Marsh Creek Detention Facility Bridge is the only ingress/egress to the Marsh Creek Detention Facility located at 12000 Marsh Creek Road in the Clayton area. The Marsh Creek Detention Facility Bridge has suffered substantial deterioration over the years and has been classified as “Structurally Deficient” in the latest bridge inspection report prepared by the State of California Office of Structure Maintenance. The County Public Works Department is currently preparing plans for a replacement structure and is scheduled to begin construction on the new bridge in summer 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The bridge could suffer additional structural damage.
