HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03232010 - C.108RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Art Lathrop), to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #23-187-14 with HCS Incorporated (dba the Abaris Group), a corporation, effective March 1, 2010, to amend Contract #23-187-12 (as amendment by Contract Extension Agreement #23-187-13), to increase the payment limit by $132,878 from $125,289 to a new total of 258,167, to extend the term of August 31, 2010 through August 31, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 100% by Federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) National Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Program funds, through the State Department of Health Services. No County funds are required. Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: KATHERINE SINCLAIR, Deputy cc: J Pigg, B Borbon C.108 To:Board of Supervisors From:William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Date:March 23, 2010 Contra Costa County Subject:Amendment Agreement #23-187-14 with HCS Incorporated (dba the Abaris Group) BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) services with regard to the development and implementation of the Department’s Emergency Medical Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Grant Application, assisting the EMS Division in developing and preparing a Project Work Plan to identify proposed expenditures and acquisitions of equipments and supplies in order to meet critical benchmarks of the HRSA grant, analyze and review steps required to advance County’s preparedness level, coordinate and prepare grant applications, act as a liaison between County and the State Department of Health Services (DHS), and prepare reports and provide additional material as required by DHS. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-187-14 will allow the Contractor to provide additional specialized consulting services, including submittal of the 2009-2010 Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) Grant, training to EMS Division, alternate care sites and Medical Reserve Corp, and submittal of final reports to County’s EMS Director through August 31, 2011.
