HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03232010 - C.93RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Amendment Agreement #26-398-12 (V261S-0364) with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS), effective August 1, 2009 to amend Agreement #26-398-10 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-398-11) , to increase the total payment limit by $40,000 from $48,000 to a new total of $88,000, with no change in the original term of April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: The Amendment is funded in the Health Services Department's Enterprise I Budget and will provide funding for option period one April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Under the term of this agreement, VANCHCS is paid a fee for service in accordance with the fee schedule which is incorporated in the Contract. The services provided for the County's patients under this Contract are billable to patients and third party payors. These services included specialized laboratory testing, radiology services, nuclear medicine studies, CT scans, MRI's, dermatology, gastroenterology, urology, audiology and speech, and ophthalmology services. On November 18, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Sharing Agreement #26-398-10 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-398-11), with VACNHCS to provide specialized Dermatology services to County's patients referred for treatment by Contra Costa Regional Medical Center physicians through March 31, 2010. Approval of Amendment Agreement #26-398-12, will allow Contractor to provide additional specialized Dermatology services to County's patients referred for treatment by Contra Costa Regional Medical Center physicians through March 31, 2010.
