HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03092010 - C.35RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Purchase Order with General Electric Healthcare, Inc. in the amount of $380,627.55 to procure four replacement Ultrasound systems at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers. FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for these systems is from Enterprise Fund I and are part of 2009/10 Capital Plan. BACKGROUND: The GE Logiq 700 Ultrasound systems were manufactured in 1995. These four systems were deemed by GE as “End of Life” effective December 31, 2009. This would have meant GE Healthcare will no longer provide parts or service for these systems. GE has since verbally changed its position and will accept service calls on a non-discounted hourly billed rate and parts for these systems will become in short supply. Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers perform on average 1,115 ultrasound procedures per months.
