APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to purchase, on behalf of
the Sheriff-Coroner, one patrol vehicle in the amount of $25,068 for use by the Office of the
Sheriff-Coroner- Discovery Bay Resident Deputy.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$25,068, 100% County Services Area P-6, Discovery Bay zone funds.
BACKGROUND:
On May 19, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved a plan to deploy extended police
protection services in the Discovery Bay area using County Service Area (CSA) P-6 zone
funding generated in the Discovery Bay area. Part of the proposal included the purchase of a
new patrol vehicle for use by the additional staff deployed in the area. This action would
authorize the Purchasing Agent to add one new patrol vehicle to the non-Internal Services
Fund fleet for use in Discovery Bay.
