FISCAL IMPACT: FY 09-10 budgeted expenditure. 100% Public Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) federal homeland security grant funding through the California Emergency Management Agency and administered through the City and County of San Francisco. BACKGROUND: The request of $599,697 is the for the purchase and installation of six dispatch consoles and related back-up equipment needed for the continued build-out the East Bay Regional Communication System. The consoles are integral to providing the best voice communication performance with the existing infrastructure. The key to the interoperability project is that every component must be 100% compatible. The existing system can not be expanded with another vendor's product and it is this fact that serves as the primary justification for doing business with Motorola, APPROVE OTHER RECOMMENDATION OF CNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD COMMITTEE Action of Board On: 02/23/2010 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED OTHER Clerks Notes: VOTE OF SUPERVISORS AYE:John Gioia, District I Supervisor Gayle B.
