Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner,
MD), to execute, on behalf of the County, Amendment Agreement #28-528-39 with the
County of Alameda, effective March 1, 2009, to amend Agreement #28-528-37 (as
amended by Amendment Agreement #28-528-38), to increase the total payment limit by
$7,831 from $1,294,179 to a new total of $1,302,010 and to make technical adjustments to
the agreement, with no change in the original term of March 1, 2009 through February 28,
2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This agreement will result in an increase in the amount of funding by $7,831 to a new
payment limit of $1,302,010, from the County of Alameda, as the Grantee of federal funds
under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006, Part A. No County
match is required.
BACKGROUND:
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has designated the County of Alameda
as “Grantee” for the purpose of administering the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Modernization Act of 2006, Part A funds for coordination of essential services to County
Costa County residence with HIV disease and their families.
On June 16, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Agreement #28-528-37 (as amended
by Amendment Agreement #28-528-38) with the County of Alameda, as the Grantee of
Federal Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act of 2006, Part A funds, for the
period from March 1, 2009 through February 28, 2010, for coordination of essential
services to County Costa County residence with HIV disease and their families.
Approval of this Amendment Agreement #28-528-39 will increase payment to the County,
for continuation of services to people with HIV and AIDS and make technical adjustments
to the Agreement with no change in the term through February 28, 2010.
