APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute the
Temporary Entry or Use Permit for biological surveys with Contra Costa Water District
(CCWD), effective January 20, 2010 through December 31, 2011, for the Vasco Road
Safety Improvements Project, as recommended by the Public Works Director.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact to the County General Fund. All funding comes from the project, 74%
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, 20% Prop 1B, 3% Federal Earmark, 3%
Measure J Funds.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Public Works Department is entering the pre-construction phase
of the Vasco Road Safety Improvements Project. It is necessary to conduct biological
surveys to identify the presence of wildlife in the surrounding area prior to construction and
during construction. As a condition of the permit, CCWD has required the County to
indemnify CCWD.
