Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Unpaid Student Training Agreement #26-141-7 with Board of Trustees of
Peralta Community College District, an educational institution, to provide field instruction
in the Health Services Department for Contractor’s students, for the period from January 1,
2010 through December 31, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this agreement is to provide Contractor’s students with the opportunity to
integrate academic knowledge with application skills and attitudes at progressively higher
levels of performance requirements and responsibility. Supervised fieldwork experience for
students is considered to be an integral part of both the educational and professional
preparation. The Health Services Department can provide the requisite field education,
while at the same time, taking advantage of the students’ services to patients.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
On February 6, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved Unpaid Student Training
Agreement #26-141-5 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-141-6) with
Board of Trustees of Peralta Community College District, for the period from January 1,
2007 through December 31, 2009.
This Contract includes mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims
arising out of the performance of this contract.
Approval of Unpaid Student Training Agreement #26-141-7 will continue to provide
supervised radiology clinical experience for Contractor’s students, through December 31,
2011.
