HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02092010 - C.29RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent, or designee, to execute a purchase order, on behalf of the County Probation Officer, with CompuCom Systems, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $213,090.20 for software application licensing for the period February 1, 2010 through January 31, 2015. FISCAL IMPACT: $213,090 Total, $42,618 annually; 100% General Fund. The proposed annual rate reflects an $8,572 decrease in the annual cost of this service from periods. BACKGROUND: In 2005 the County's Department of Information Technology (DoIT) negotiated a five-year Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft, and encouraged departments to take advantage of the savings inherent in that agreement. The Probation Department did so, and because of its size entered into an agreement separately with CompuCom Systems, Inc., the authorized Microsoft vendor in this region. The five-year agreement is expiring, and the Probation Department requires software solution for general operations. The new agreement with CompuCom would result a reduced licensing cost from previous agreement.
