APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the General
Services Department, a purchase order with Gallagher & Burke Inc. for the grading, filling,
and paving of the main driveway and the sallyport driveway at the West County Detention
Facility in an amount not to exceed $108,805.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The project costs are appropriated in the Plant Acquisition budget (Budget Unit 0111).
BACKGROUND:
The driveways at the West County Detention Facility (WCDF) have deteriorated and need
to be replaced. The General Services Department solicited informal bids from qualified
contractors to replace the driveways. Fourteen bids were received, ranging in price from
$108,805 to $193,000. Gallagher & Burke, Inc. was selected as the lowest responsive and
responsible bidder with a bid of $108,805.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
