Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand), to execute, on behalf of the
County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24–807–3 with Staff Care, Inc., a corporation, effective January 1, 2010,
to amend Contract #24–807–2, to increase the payment limit by $560,000, from $300,000 to a new payment limit of
$860,000, with no change in the original term of May 1, 2009 through April 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment.
BACKGROUND:
On March 31, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24–807–2 with Staff Care, Inc. for the period from
May 1, 2009 through April 30, 2010, for the provision of temporary psychiatric registry coverage services for the
Mental Health Division Outpatient Clinics, to cover vacations, sick leave, and extended leaves of County-employed
psychiatrists.
The original payment limit was based on expected utilization levels at the time that the Contract was negotiated.

However, during the term of this Contract, County has lost several psychiatric physicians due to resignations,
retirements, maternity leaves, and other leaves-of-absences.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24–807–3 will allow the Contractor to provide services of additional
psychiatric physicians, through April 30, 2010.
