HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02022010 - C.43RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with Language Line Services, Inc. to increase the payment limit by $375,000 to a new payment limit of $725,000 for interpretation and translation services, for the period April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: $725,000: Administrative Overhead (20% County; 40% State; 40% Federal) BACKGROUND: Language Line Services, Inc., was selected through the competitive process to provide telephone interpretation, onsite interpretation, and document translation services to non-English speaking recipients of Employment and Human Services Department services. In compliance with State and Federal regulations, interpretation services will be made via telephone translation and in-person, onsite translation services. The increased usage resulted from a greater number of non-English speaking clients requesting EHSD services and reductions in bi-lingual staff.
