HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01192010 - C.26RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriation Adjustment No. 5045 authorizing new revenue in the Sheriff's Office (0255) in the amount of $137,776 from the U.S. Department of Justice, 2008 DNA Backlog Reduction Program Grant and appropriating it for the continued funding of personnel in the Forensic Services Division. FISCAL IMPACT: This action increases revenue and appropriations by $137,776. CFDA No. 16.741. BACKGROUND: The Sheriff's Office has received DNA Backlog Reduction Program Grant funds for the past two years. This grant continues to fund two DNA analysts who process DNA samples collected during investigations to aid in criminal prosecutions. The Forensic Services Division provides state-of-the-art forensic DNA testing for all law enforcement agencies in the County.
