(No County match) FISCAL IMPACT: No County match 75.95% State funds ($1,380,440) 24.05% Federal funds ($437,135) / CFDA #93.596 BACKGROUND: The Board approved this funding agreement on June 23, 2009. This amendment reduces the minimum days of operation form 251 to 245 days. Approval of this agreement will allow continued provision of vital childcare services to Contra Costa County children and families. The county receives funds from the California Department of Education to provide state preschool general childcare services to program eligible County residents. State # CCTR 9028, Amend 1 County # 39-801-19 7/1/09 - 6/30/10 CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Community Services Bureau of the Employment & Human Services Department’s Head Start program supports three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
