Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Randall Sawyer), to
execute, on behalf of the County, Interagency Agreement #22–402–12 with City of
Richmond, on behalf of its Fire Department, a government agency, in an amount not to
exceed $379,720, to provide support of the City of Richmond Fire Department’s Hazardous
Materials Response Unit, for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by AB 2185 fees that County charges to businesses for the
handling of hazardous materials, and is included in the Department’s budget.
BACKGROUND:
On January 8, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Interagency Agreement
#22–402–11 with City of Richmond, on behalf of its Fire Department, for the period from
July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2009, to maintain a Hazardous Materials Response Unit in
West County.
