HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12012009 - C.29RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5024 reducing revenue in the amount of $15,000 from the State Department of Insurance and reducing appropriations in the District Attorney (0242) budget for the Life and Annuity Consumer Protection Program. FISCAL IMPACT: $15,000 reduction in revenue. BACKGROUND: The Distict Attorney's Office, has for many years, participated in the Worker's Compensation and Auto Insurance Fraud Grant Programs administered through the California Department of Insurance, receiving and successfully prosecuting numerous cases from the Department of Insurance. Additionally, for several years the District Attorney received funding for a Life and Annuity Consumer Protection Program. The FY 2009/10 application was denied because the County does not receive many complaints/cases involving life and annuity financial abuse. This Appropriation Adjustment will eliminate the $15,000 budgeted for the program in FY 2009/10.
