Subject:Ordinance Designating Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team Vehicles
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Department vehicles as hazardous materials response vehicles; these original vehicles
have been replaced. In 2005, the Board Adopted Ordinance No. 2005-31 that designated
three vehicles as hazardous materials response team vehicles.
The County is updating the vehicle permits to include an additional vehicle, which was
purchased since 2005, for use during hazardous material emergencies. The attached
ordinance designates four vehicles as hazardous materials response team vehicles for
response to hazardous material emergencies. Adoption of this ordinance will allow Health
Services to apply to the California Highway Patrol for Authorized Emergency Vehicles
Permit for this vehicle.
