RECEIVE this report concerning the final settlement of Belran Shelby and AUTHORIZE
payment from the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund in an amount not to exceed
$42,500 less permanent disability advance.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund payment of $42,500 less permanent disability
advances.
BACKGROUND:
Attorney Robert J. Cavallero, defense counsel for the County has advised the County
Administrator that within authorization, an agreement has been reached settling the workers'
compensation claim of Belran Shelby v. Contra Costa County.
The Board's October 13, 2009 closed session vote was Supervisors Gioia, Uilkema, Piepho
and Bonilla - Yes. Supervisor Glover - Absent.
This action is taken so that the terms of this final settlement and the earlier October 13,
