HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10132009 - C.47RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-577-4 with All Health Services, Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000, to provide temporary medical staffing services at the Detention Facilities and Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this contract is 100% Enterprise Fund I budget. As appropriate, patients and/or third-party payors will be billed for services. BACKGROUND: The County has contracted for many years with registries to provide temporary help services to assist the Detention Facilities and Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers during peak loads, temporary absences and emergency situations. Therefore, the Department has had to rely heavily on the registry services in order to provide quality medical care for patients. On October 23, 2007, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-577-1 (as by Amendment Agreements #26-577-2 and #26-577-3) to provide temporary medical staffing services at the Detention Facilities and Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers including Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Ophthalmology Technicians, Physical and Occupational Therapist, and Psychiatric Technicians, for the period from October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2009. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-577-4 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services, through September 30, 2011.
