APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to enter into a contract with
Hunter Research, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $685,250 for software design,
development, programming, and annual maintenance support for the Automated Regional
Information Exchange System (ARIES) Project for the period September 1, 2009 through
August 31, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No net County Costs. This Contract will be funded through the U.S. Department of Justice,
Bureau of Justice Assistance Earmark Grant and through subscriber fees collected from
subscribing agencies to ARIES.
BACKGROUND:
The proposed contract with Hunter Research, Inc., provides continuity in the plan developed
by Automated Regional Information Exchange System (ARIES) Operations Committee and
adopted by the County Justice Automation Advisory Committee (JAAC) for countywide
justice and law enforcement systems integration and information sharing. ARIES continues
to expand due to interest in the system from jurisdictions throughout the State. Subscribing
