HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10132009 - C.31RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Workforce Development Board, to execute an agreement with the State of California, Employment Development Department to accept Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Title 1 Youth formula funds, Subgrant K074136, funding in an amount not to exceed $1,883,329 for WIA youth services from April 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: No County costs. County to receive up to $1,883,329; Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Youth formula funds. No County match. BACKGROUND: The U. S. Department of Labor Workforce Investment Act (WIA) grants funding by formula to states for distribution to local Workforce Investment Boards to fund employment-related services, including specific allocations for youth employment and occupational training.
