ADOPT Position Adjustment No. 20733 to add:
One full-time Home Economist (V9WE) position and one part-time (24/40) position at
salary level QT5 1376 ($4,173-$5072);
Two full-time Clerk-Experienced Level (JWXB) positions at salary level 3RH 0750
($2,682-$3,327);
Increase the hours of Senior Public Health Nutritionist position #9473 from 24/40 to 32/40;
Increase the hours of Senior Public Health Nutritionist position #8982 from 32/40 to 40/40;
Increase the hours of Home Economist Position #13242 from 30/40 to 40/40
in the Health Services Department/Public Health WIC Program.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost of this action is $367,618. A permanent base adjustment of $443,634 to the
WIC grant from State of California will offset cost.

Subject:Approve P-300 #20733 for the Public Health WIC Program
BACKGROUND:
As a result of the economy downturn, the demand for WIC services has increased. The
WIC program currently serves 22,000 clients and issues approximately $2 million in food
checks per month. The requested additional personnel is needed to efffectively serve the
program's clients.
