HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10132009 - C.10RECOMMENDATION(S):
INTRODUCE Ordinance 2009-22 amending Section 33-5.375 of the County Ordinance
Code to exempt the classification of Fleet Manager and retitle the classification to Fleet
Manager-Exempt and exempt the classification from the Merit System as recommended by
the Assistant County Administrator-Director of Human Resources.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no cost associated with this action.
BACKGROUND:
The General Services Department's request to exempt the Fleet Manager classification from
the Merit System has been reviewed and considered by the Human Resources Department
and County Counsel. Due to the nature of the work and the scope and level of responsibility
the classification has for determining and publicly advocating substantive program policy,
the Assistant County Administrator-Director of Human Resources is recommending that the
classification be exempt. The Fleet Manager classification is a single level managerial
position in the Fleet Services Division and reports to the General Services Director. The
Fleet Manager position is currently vacant.
