CONTINUE the emergency action taken by the Board of Supervisors originally on June 23,
2009, pursuant to Public Contact Code Sections 22035 and 22050, to repair the Marsh Drive
Bridge, Concord area.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total costs of the project is not expected to exceed $120,000. The project will be funded
by Local Road funds (100%).
BACKGROUND:
A. On June 23, 2009, the Board of Supervisors declared an emergency and authorized the
Public Works Director to proceed in the most expeditious manner to repair the Marsh Drive
Bridge.
B. Repair Status: A contract was awarded to Hess Construction Company by the Public
Works Director on August 26, 2009 and construction has begun. It is expected that
construction will be complete in early to mid October 2009.
